    About the Edelweiss

Good things come to those who wait

In the former Görlitzer Bahnhof, the traditional restaurant Edelweiss resides. An eye-catcher is the terrace in front of the entrance hall of the former railway station, especially since the restaurant is located right in Görlitzer Park. It therefore also makes sense to visit Edelweiss simply a cup of coffee or a slice of cake while basking in sun on the beautiful terrace.

The regular Jazz-Jamsessions don't meet the standard set by Yorkschlösschen or B-Flats, and with constantly changing opening acts and session guests it takes patience to find the hidden gems. Edelweiss also has a DJ that reguarly plays everything from Dub and Techno to Schlager in Edelweiss' Partykeller (Party Basement). The air in the basement tends to be quite musty and the mood inside ranges from pleasant to not so pleasant. Probably a visit to Edelweiss is only worth it if you love Görlitzer Park and can secure a nice spot on the terrace.

The best time to eat in Edelweiss is for breakfast, which feels great with Görlitzer Park around you. Unfortunately the staff often seems overwhelmed and hence it may take some time for your order to arrive. Quality wise the warm food is decent but not spectacular.
